Does anyone know if they exist? Or are there just normal and boss mobs? If anyone has found any, do they drop better than average loot? How can you determine whether it's a rare spawn or not?
Also I'd like to add that cake is delicious. :3

Some do drop good stuff, but some are quest mobs and aren't special. Most non-quest mobs that are named drop pretty good greens.
There are a few or even countable on two hands in each zone.

Some are elite, like in the Krall or Mau area yes. But the area is elite themselves. But in the normal areas approximatly a handfull of elites between normal mobs at most.
From what I know on the Elyos side is that in the Shrine near Pilgrim Respite, there are two normal named mob, dropping damn good green items (level 17-20). While in the Dukaki area there is an elite mob that drops a blue level 20.. (level 14 area) while on cantas coast there's a sea turtle dropping a blue item as well.. while I kill it as a gladiator (20) with losing 10% HP at max... while the mob is level 19.. just big but not elite.
So if you look at it like that, it's not always a lot harder =)

Awesome! Can't wait to find one, I'll be keeping my eyes peeled in the cluster fuck that is the NACB.
Thanks Sparx!

I usually just channel switch farm them when I'm in their areas. Luckily they're putting in a timer on the channel change to keep people like me from exploiting that so effectively. The mobs are harder than normal mobs (by very little) and they drop very nice items.
I know there's Aloof Tiara, lvl 4 elite, on the island in poeta.
Darkbeard Fauron, lvl 6 elite, to the right of the road before you reach the Forest Protector.
There's also an elite Sparky somewhere before you get to Pernos but I've never seen it.
I've seen and know of more but I really don't feel like going through them right now or ever actually... Maybe that'll help some low lvl people. If anyone else doesn't mind sharing loot then they can give some locations...I'm going to have to be stingy with the rest for now.

Thanks for the info =)
I did managed to run into Mr. Darkbeard the other day. Also there's a rabbit in the first forest area of the asmoes starting area. I think he's called like silver-foot or something I can't really recall (I ran into him in the last beta in June). Dropped a green pair of cloth boots and a belt.
I found one the other day in the Dukaki Settlement. He was Chief someone or another, at a hut just due north of the cauldrons. A cleric managed to get to him before I could. Not sure if it was the Chankaki or not.
From what I noticed with Darkbeard, the respawn time was somewhere between 2-4 hours. Not sure if this is the same for every rare (probably isn't). Also I only checked back about once every 45 minutes or so for him. He could have spawned and been killed by someone else and spawned again. However, I'm greatful it's not the spawn once every 12 hours like in WoW.

This Isn't a hack, but i farmed him for about 15+ greens. What I did was kill him then cycle to the next channel and repeat. I didn't sell the greens but extracted enchantment stones... got to +9 tried for +10 but ended up at +7 then eventually back to +8. True story.
On the downside.. I pretty sure there is a limit to how many times you can get greens from these mobs or something.. cuz eventually it stopped droping anything and I was still the same level as it.
